For those to whom this makes sense

My logic:

Pushing goes a long way, right up until your lip splits. Once that happens, you have to back off, otherwise the longer you push, it takes exponentially longer to heal. And it feels like someone is taking a knife to your lip. So when I felt my lip start to split, I stopped pushing, mostly by taking everything down an octave.

The problem with taking everything down an octave is that the result is the same as playing second trumpet in a baroque small ensemble. With such a small, easy range, the lips get overbuzzed and loose, therefore creating an awful mouth to play with. So my answer was to stop playing. But Garske wanted me to play. That would be using...

No logic.
